PHRI Ensures 7,266 Hotel Rooms Are Available For Self Quarantine

JAKARTA - Hotel Repatriation Coordinator of the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI), Vivi Herlambang, confirmed the availability of hotel rooms for self-quarantine for travelers from abroad.

"There is still 43 percent that is still vacant or 7,266 rooms. So, don't worry about the number of rooms," Vivi said in the event "Kupas Tuntas Prosedur Karantina Pelaku Perjalanan Luar Negeri", as quoted by Antara, Thursday, December 23.

It provides 16,588 rooms from 135 hotels in the Greater Jakarta area for self-quarantine.

"The total rooms we have prepared are currently 16,588 rooms from 135 hotels in Jabodetabek. The occupancy rate has only reached 56 percent," she explained.

Hotels that can be used for self-quarantine ranging from two-star hotels to five-star hotels and luxury hotels, with varying prices which include lodging costs for 9 nights 10 days, three meals per day, laundry five pieces of clothes per day, transportation from the airport to the hotels, two PCR tests, and health workers.

The quarantine period is in accordance with the current government regulation for 10 days for travelers from abroad and 14 days for Indonesian citizens who come from 13 countries who are prohibited from entering Indonesia due to the Omicron variant.

The thirteen countries are South Africa, Botswana, Angola, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Eswatini, Lesotho, United Kingdom, Norway and Denmark.
