The Role Of 2 Suspected Terrorists In South Kalimantan: Arrange The Purchase Of Weapons To Spread The Study

JAKARTA - Densus 88 Anti-terror has arrested two suspected terrorists in South Kalimantan. One of them plays a role in planning the purchase of weapons and preparing for physical training.

"His involvement is that during the examination he participated in discussions related to plans to purchase weapons and preparations for physical training", said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Public Relations Division, Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan, to reporters on Thursday, December 23.

The suspected terrorist who has this role has the initials MR. He said the police had chosen the location for the physical training for JAD members.

"MR plans I'dad training at Ade's place in Sampit, Central Kalimantan", he said.

In addition, from the examination, he also joined a group on social media with other groups.

Meanwhile, the other suspected terrorists have the initials SU. From the results of the examination, he has a role that is not much different. But its role is more to spread and conduct studies. The goal is to get people interested in joining JAD.

"The involvement is in conducting online studies as well as through zoom meetings with the JAD network group and using social media facilities which include video activities, videos of physical training, military, and shooting training, as well as hiking up the mountain", said Ramadhan.

"(The goal, ed) is to attract or make people interested in inviting their groups to join the new JAD network. That's the role of SU", he continued.

Previously, Densus 88 Anti-terror again arrested two suspected terrorists. The arrests took place in South Kalimantan.

"Densus 88 Anti-terror has indeed arrested 2 terrorist suspects in South Kalimantan", said Ramadhan.

From the results of the temporary examination, the two suspected terrorists belonged to the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) network. However, their role is still being investigated.
