A Week's Notes, Two Obscenity Cases In West Jakarta Revealed, Police Urge Parents To Watch Children Strictly

JAKARTA - The West Jakarta Metro Police have succeeded in uncovering two cases of sexual violence against children in the past week. The rise of sexual crimes has made the Police Chief furious.

West Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Grand Commissioner Pol Ady Wibowo also appealed to the public to be even more stringent in taking care of their children when they are at home and outside the home.

"This is an appeal to the public to take better care of their families. This is a very serious crime because it is very damaging to our young generation. Because it is targeted at children who continue to grow," said the Police Chief, Thursday, December 23.

The number of cases of sexual violence that afflicts young children is feared to have an impact on children's psychology.

"We are afraid that there will be psychological problems related to what happened to them," he said.

Disclosure of cases of sexual violence, he continued, is part of giving an appeal to the public and anyone.

"It's a lesson for all of us to be more careful about the crimes that are getting bigger and bigger for our children," he said.

As is known, cases of sexual violence against children have occurred again in the West Jakarta area. This time, the perpetrator is also a teenager with the initials A.

A (15) has carried out this activity for the past 2 years with 9 victims in the Cengkareng area, West Jakarta.

Of the nine victims of sexual harassment, they consisted of 7 boys and 2 girls.

"The perpetrator has been sexually harassing her since 2 years ago," said the Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Grand Commissioner Pol. Endra Zulpan, Wednesday, December 22.

The incident was only revealed after the victim reported to her parents that she and other victims had been subjected to repeated sexual abuse by the perpetrator.

Endra further said that the incident was revealed when the victim with the initials MUA reported it to his parents. Then the victim's parents received information regarding the existence of 9 other children who were victims of sexual abuse.

"Departing from the report, then the victim's parents reported it to the Cengkareng Police," he said.

The perpetrators carried out their depraved acts from 2019 to 2021.

"The last incident occurred 2 months ago, when the perpetrator committed an act of sexual harassment," he said.

Until now, the West Jakarta Metro Police are still coordinating with P2TP2A regarding the sexual harassment case.

"We have carried out psychiatric examinations on victims of sexual harassment," he said.

As a result of his actions, the teenager with the initials A was forced to undergo a legal process. A was charged with Article 82 (1) Jo 76e UURI No.17 of 2016 concerning the second amendment to UURI No.23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection.

Previously, the West Jakarta Metro Police also arrested a man with the initials H (39) who had the heart to sodomize a 7-year-old boy, his neighbor in the Kemanggisan area, Palmerah, West Jakarta.

Niko said the perpetrator committed the crime of sexual sodomy in his own home. The perpetrator committed the depraved act seven times from February to May 2021.
