NU Muktamar Attention Center To Be Held In Bandar Lampung, Chairman Election Moved From Central Lampung

Access road to Darussa'adah Islamic Boarding School, Central Lampung.

JAKARTA - The committee for the 34th Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Congress has shifted the election location for the chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board to Bandar Lampung. The committee moved the location from the beginning to Darussa'adah Islamic Boarding School, Central Lampung.

The NU congress was indeed divided into 2 locations and 4 separate places for the sake of health protocols. In Central Lampung, where the congress was opened, it was held at the Darussa'adah Islamic Boarding School. While in Bandar Lampung, it was held at UIN Raden Intan, Lampung State University, and Malahayati University.

The distance between Central Lampung and Bandar Lampung itself is quite far. Although there is already toll access, it takes more than 1 hour to reach the location. Not to mention the path to the location of the boarding school which is filled with heavy vehicles.

Meanwhile, from the main access to the Islamic boarding school, you still have to take a route of more than 1 km. Because the actual location of the boarding school lacks parking space, local residents close the main route. They asked all the congress participants to walk while offering motorcycle taxi services.

This is what makes the congress participants object.

"There are certain considerations from the participants, solely for efficiency," said Secretary of the NU Congress Committee, Syahrizal Syarif, Thursday, December 23.

Although there is a plan to move the location for the election of the PBNU chairman to Bandar Lampung, the exact location has not yet been determined.

"We will leave the location to the organizers, who better understand the location," he added.
