DENPASAR - Civil Service Police (Satpol PP) reminded traders not to sell fireworks ahead of the turn of the year. Fireworks are indeed prohibited in a number of areas, including Bali.
The head of the Bali Province Satpol PP Dewa Nyoman Rai Dharmadi said the ban on fireworks has been regulated in a circular letter from the mayor of Denpasar. But in other districts, similar regulations have not yet been issued.
"No fireworks. There is no prohibition on traders, only that there should be no fireworks parties because fireworks have the potential to cause crowds," said Dharmadi, Wednesday, December 22.
Satpol PP will guard crowded places such as tourist destinations. It is certain that the rules against fireworks will be enforced on New Year's Eve, December 31.
"Such as public areas in parks will also be strictly guarded lest there be fireworks, including in business premises. Meanwhile, because (the prohibition on selling fireworks) is not in the regulations, only an appeal not to (sell) fireworks is carried out in a persuasive manner," he said.

"Firework celebrations are still prohibited. We follow the rules of Imdagri 66 and SE Governor Number 20 of 2021 and we both urge the people in Bali to obey for the common good," said Bali Police Chief Inspector General Putu Jayan Danu Putra in Wana Segara Kerthi, Desa Kedonganan, Badung Regency, Bali, Monday, December 20.
Meanwhile, the odd-even system rules at tourist attractions in Bali are applied situationally. Opening and closing roads in tourist attractions is carried out when there is a crowd.
