TNI AL Grants Nomad Planes And Tanks For Monuments In Madiun

MADIUN - The Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) through the Main Base of the Navy V Surabaya (Lantamal V Surabaya) donated a Nomad N24 aircraft and a retired Amphibious Tank to the Madiun Regency Government, East Java to be used as a monument.

Head of Human Settlements, Madiun Regency PUPR Office, Boby Saktia Putra Lubis, said that the discussion on the monument from the retired defense equipment grant had been carried out since mid-2021. Currently, towards the end of the year, on December 21, 2021, the defense weapon system grant arrived in Madiun Regency.

"The installation process can take up to several days because we are constrained by the narrow location to install the aircraft," said Boby Saktia on the sidelines of the installation process in Madiun, as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, December 21.

As planned, the plane and tank monument will be placed in the green open space (RTH) of Taman Asti Caruban and the toll gate or toll exit in Dumpil, Balerejo, Madiun Regency.

Meanwhile, the choice of Madiun Regency as the location for the construction of the historical monument to the defense equipment system indicates that Madiun Regency is indeed an area that used to fight against the invaders so that the monument to the two historic combat equipment was built in the Madiun Regency area.

In addition, the existence of the historical monument can also instill the values of patriotism and nationalism in the community, especially the younger generation in Madiun Regency for their love for the country.

According to the data, the Nomad Aircraft and Battle Tanks were once used for operations in West Irian.

Later the monument will be built with an open concept so that it can become a place of recreation for residents as well as a means to learn history.
