Village Fund Corruption, Public Prosecutor Demands Former Village Head In Dompu NTB 1 Year Jail And IDR 50 Million Fine

NTB - The public prosecutor (JPU) stated that Usman, the former Head of Jala Village, Dompu Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), was proven to be corrupt in the Allocation of Village Funds and Village Funds for Fiscal Year 2018. One of them is related to the construction of 10 wells projects.

"Hereby declare that the defendant Usman has been proven to have legally benefited himself and/or abused his authority over his position as stipulated in the subsidiary indictment," said Public Prosecutor Adda'watul Islamiyyah who read Usman's demands before the Panel of Judges at the Mataram Corruption District Court, Antara, Monday. , December 20.

The subsidiary indictment of the defendant Usman relates to Article 3 Juncto Article 18 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 20/2001 concerning Amendments to RI Law Number 31/1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes Juncto Article 65 Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.

By declaring Usman guilty in the subsidiary indictment, the Public Prosecutor demanded the panel of judges to impose a prison sentence of 1 year and a fine of Rp. 50 million subsidiary to 6 months in prison.

The prosecutor's consideration of imposing such a sentence was due to the efforts of Usman to pay compensation for state losses calculated by the Dompu Inspectorate of Rp. 193 million.

"During the trial, the defendant had entrusted the refund of the state's loss and it had been deposited into the account of the Dompu District Attorney's office. Therefore, it was requested to be confiscated and returned to the state treasury," he said.

After hearing the reading of the charges, the defendant through his legal advisor, Syarifuddin Lakuy, submitted his request to provide a response.

"Please take a week to submit a plea (memorandum of defense)," said Syarifuddin.

The chairman of the panel of judges, Isrin Surya Kurniasih, who heard this response, decided to postpone the trial so that it would be held again with the agenda of hearing the defendant's plenary session on Monday (27/12).

Jala Village, Hu'u Subdistrict, Dompu Regency, in 2018 received ADD and DD management worth IDR 1.721 billion. From this budget, there are construction projects for the construction of 10 wells for the community.

From the process, the Dompu Inspectorate Audit Team found irregularities in the realization of the project, resulting in a loss of up to IDR 70 million. Losses arose from the construction of 7 wells which were buried by the soil due to rain and flooding.
