Bahar Bin Smith And Eggi Sujana Reported To Metro Jaya Police

JAKARTA - The lecturer, Bahar bin Smith, was reported to the Metro Jaya Police. Habib Bahar, his nickname, is reported to be related to allegations of spreading information that causes hatred or hostility to individuals and groups based on Ethnic, Religion, Race, and Intergroup issues (SARA) or insults to state authorities.

The Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Grand Commissioner E. Zulpan, who was confirmed about the report, confirmed it.

"Yes, it is true that there was a report," said Zulpan to VOI, Monday, December 20.

The report is registered with the number LP/B/6146/XII/2021/SPKT Polda Metro Jaya, dated December 7th.

In fact, in the letter, not only Habib Bahar was reported. Eggi Sujana was also reported on the same suspicion.

However, Zulpan did not respond when asked about the report related to Bahar bin Smith's lecture which was considered insulting to the Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General Dudung Abdurachman.

This is because the reporting data contains elements of alleged contempt for the state authorities.

Meanwhile, in the report, Bahar bin Smith and Eggi Sujana were suspected of violating Article 28 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 45A paragraph (2) and/or Article 32 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 48 paragraph (1) of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia number 19 of 2016 concerning ITE and or Articles 14 and 15 of Law number 1 of 1946 concerning criminal law regulations and or Article 270 of the Criminal Code.
