Jakarta Social Service Agency Gives Food And Baby Equipment To Fire Victims In Kali Pasir Menteng

JAKARTA - Central Jakarta Social Service Sub-dept provided ready-to-eat food, drinking water, and other equipment to fire victims on Kali Pasir Street, RW 01, Cikini Village, Menteng District, Central Jakarta.

"100 boxes of ready-to-eat food are provided, mineral water and instant noodles. This assistance will continue in stages as long as it is still needed", said Head of the Central Jakarta Social Service, Abdul Salam Alam, when confirmed by VOI, Saturday, December 18.

As is known, fires hit several houses in the densely populated area of Kali Pasir, Menteng, on Thursday, December 17, evening. The fire was extinguished at 22.47 WIB with water from 27 fire engines.

The fire was triggered by an electrical short in one of the houses. As a result, as many as 17 houses were burned and 9 houses were affected by the fire.

"In addition to food, logistical assistance was also provided to fire victims. The assistance includes baby equipment and blankets", said Abdul Salam.

The fire victims took refuge in a temporary place by utilizing the post area of RW 01, Cikini Village. The assistance that has been handed over by the Central Jakarta Social Sub-dept are 30 blankets, 25 mattresses, 5 tarpaulins, 8 packages of baby equipment, and 50 clothes.

"We also gave 150 kg of rice, 15 boxes of instant noodles, 3 boxes of cooking oil, and 5 boxes of biscuits. Assistance was given to residents through the Community Welfare of Cikini Village", he said.
