Mahfud MD Digging, Begins Construction Of The Residents Affected By The Semeru Eruption

LUMAJANG - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD marked the beginning of the construction of temporary shelters (huntaras) for residents affected by the hot clouds from Mount Semeru. Mahfud carried out the first plowing in the relocation area of Sumbermujur Village, Lumajang Regency, East Java.

According to him, the construction of shelters is an example of the high value of community cooperation, working hand in hand to help relatives in the vicinity who are affected by disasters.

"We continue to work hard so that the relocation can be completed soon, so that people can return to normal life," he said.

Meanwhile the Regent of Lumajang Thoriqul Haq who accompanied the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Gus Miftah and Regent of Bangkalan R. Abdul Latif Amin Imron in Lumajang said that the first plowing marked the start of construction of temporary housing.

Based on the Decree (SK) on the Use of Forest Areas (PKH), which contains approval for the use of land owned by Perhutani covering an area of 90.98 hectares in accordance with SK Number 1256/MENLHK/SETJEN/PLA:/12/2021. The relocation locations were decided in Sumbermujur Village, Candipuro District covering an area of 79.6 hectares and Oro-oro Ombo Village, Pronojiwo District approximately 8 hectares.

"With this decree, it means that the construction of temporary housing on land owned by Perhutani can begin," said the regent, who is usually called Cak Thoriq.

He explained that the concept of building a temporary shelter was built in the same location as a permanent residence (huntap), only that it was placed at the back. So that when housing is still built by the central government, people do not need to move.

Meanwhile, Gus Miftah, who closed the prayer in the series of activities that started the construction of shelters for residents affected by APG Semeru, also contributed Rp600 million from students of the Ora Aji Islamic Boarding School.
