Good News, Anies Finally Revises DKI UMP Increase To 5.1 Percent

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan, revised the increase in the provincial minimum wage (UMP) for DKI Jakarta in 2022 by 5.1 percent. Previously, DKI UMP was set to increase by 0.85 percent.

Thus, the DKI Jakarta UMP in 2022 will increase by IDR 225,667 to IDR 4,641,854 per month. Anies hopes that the revised UMP increase can meet the needs of the workers.

"With an increase of IDR 225,557 per month, our fellow workers can use it for daily needs such as rice, chicken meat, eggs, and milk, compared to the previous increase of IDR 37,749", Anies said in his statement, Friday, December 17th.

The increase in the UMP amount resulted from Anies' efforts, who previously sent a letter to the Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia regarding the Proposal for a Review of the 2022 Provincial Minimum Wage Determination Formula (UMP).

This policy was carried out after a review and rediscussion with all relevant stakeholders. Governor Anies emphasized that the decision to increase the DKI UMP upholds the principle of justice.

Anies continued, the increase in the UMP in 2022 by 5.1 percent was appropriate as a form of appreciation for workers who contributed to the capital city's economy during the pandemic.

"This is a form of appreciation from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to our brothers and sisters, the workers who have become heroes in moving and restoring the national economy", Anies explained.

"We assess this 5.1 percent increase as feasibility that can be given to workers by the capabilities of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. We hope that in the future the economy can move faster for the good of all of us", he added.
