Robber Who Uses Airsoft Gun In Karangayar Arrested By Police In Ngawi

SEMARANG - The General Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Central Java Police arrested a robber of a pet shop in Karanganyar Regency, Central Java, who used a replica airsoft gun to scare his victims.

Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Central Java Police, Police Commissioner Djuhandan said the suspect was named Ganang Setiawan (25), a resident of Banjarsari, Semarang City, and was arrested in Ngawi, East Java, after moving from hiding places.

In his action on December 1, 2021, Setiawan came to the Star Pet Shop by pretending to be buying accessories and asking about job vacancies.

He then pointed an airsoft gun at the shopkeeper and had time to hit the victim's body so that he would hand over the stored money.

"From his actions, the perpetrator took Rp. 400 thousand in cash which was stored at the cashier's desk," Djuhandani said in Semarang as reported by Antara, Thursday, December 16.

From the results of the examination, Setiawan admitted that he bought the replica firearm online for Rp. 2 million. As for the money from the robbery, said Djuhandani, the perpetrators plan to use the money to pay mortgage installments at the bank. For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 365 of the Criminal Code concerning theft.
