Central Java Police Ready To Anticipate Year-End Homecoming Arrival

SEMARANG - The Directorate of Traffic Investigation of the Central Java Police said it was ready to anticipate the arrival of homecomers during the Christmas and year-end holidays amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Central Java Police are ready with service posts and ways to act in dealing with the increasing number of people who will enter the province," said Director of Traffic for the Central Java Police, Kombes Agus Suryo Nugroho, in Semarang, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, December 15.

According to him, there are a number of scenarios prepared to deal with the increase in community mobility.

Kombes Agus said that the implementation of PPKM level 3 which was canceled was expected to cause a significant increase in the flow of people to Central Java compared to normal days.

Therefore, the police will hold Candi Candle Operations from December 24, 2021 to January 2, 2022.

"It is estimated that starting D-3, many will enter Central Java," he said.

Several scenarios are prepared to deal with the increase in traffic flow, including the implementation of "one way", "contra flow", and diverting the flow in case of congestion.

The toll road managers in the Central Java region, he continued, were also asked to increase the number of toll booths.

"In Central Java, there are 29 toll exits spread across various regions," he said.
