Police Seize Packages Of 2 Kg Cannabis In West Lombok Shipments From Aceh

MATARAM - The West Nusa Tenggara Police thwarted the circulation of 2 kilograms of marijuana in packages in West Lombok Regency, sent from Aceh.

Director of Narcotics Investigation of the NTB Police, Kombes Helmi Kwarta Kusuma Putra Rauf, said that his party thwarted the circulation starting with the arrest of a man with the initials MA (21).

"The perpetrator was arrested shortly after taking the package of the goods he ordered from the delivery service," Helmi said, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, December 14.

He explained that the arrest of MA with evidence of a package containing 2 kilograms of marijuana from Aceh on Sunday, December 12, was successful thanks to the cooperation of the delivery service.

"Initially, the delivery service officer was suspicious. There was no destination address as written on the package," he said.

The suspicion was reinforced by the presence of someone who contacted the delivery service and wanted to take the package directly.

"That suspicion was passed on to our members," he said.

The police, who had been on standby at the delivery service, then saw IZ come and take the package.

The police immediately followed the vehicle that was headed to the Melase area, Batulayar District, West Lombok Regency.

"In the middle of the road, the vehicle was stopped and the team immediately conducted a search on the basis of field information," he said.

IZ search results, finally found 2 kilograms of marijuana in the package of goods. Piles of dried leaves, seeds and cannabis stems were found in duct tape.

Helmi appreciated the delivery of goods that have built cooperation with the police in preventing drug trafficking efforts.

"This collaboration is extraordinary. So if they still want to use this mode, we can be sure they will be caught. They will not be able to escape," said Helmi.
