Ahok Mourns The Departure Of Haji Lulung

JAKARTA - Former Governor of DKI Jakarta Basuki Tjahaja also expressed his condolences for the passing of PPP politician Abraham Lunggana or who is familiarly called Haji Lulung.

"My deepest condolences. May the spirit of the deceased be accepted by Allah," Ahok said in a short message, Tuesday, December 14.

Ahok and Haji Lulung once had a political story that caught the public's attention. When Ahok served as Governor of DKI, Lulung, who was then Deputy Chair of the DKI DPRD for the 2014-2019 period from the PPP faction, often had different opinions.

Haji Lulung often criticizes Ahok regarding the problem of handling Jakarta's floods. Ahok also once said that Haji Lulung did not understand local regulations regarding the problem of thugs in Tanah Abang.

Their rivalry continues, Haji Lulung once left PPP because the faction supported Ahok in the 2017 Jakarta gubernatorial election and moved to PAN to nominate himself as a Member of the Indonesian Parliament. Until finally, Haji Lulung returned to PPP.

Besides Ahok, the former Deputy Governor of DKI who became his running mate, Djarot Saiful Hidayat also expressed his condolences for Lulung's death. Djarot admitted that he had a different political attitude from Lulung when he was still in DKI.

"Although the deceased and I often differed both politically and in terms of views, the relationship and communication with the deceased continued to run well," said Djarot.

In Djarot's eyes, Lulung is a political figure who is intelligent, courageous, and communicative in solving various existing problems. "The deceased is also willing to accept a solution as long as it is for the benefit and good of the people," he said.

For information, Haji Lulung passed away at Harapan Kita Hospital at 10.51 WIB. Lulung has been undergoing intensive care for 20 days at the hospital since November 24, 2021.

While being treated by a heart and blood vessel specialist at Harapan Kita Hospital, Haji Lulung had experienced ups and downs in medical conditions. Until finally, Lulung's condition worsened and he breathed his last today.
