Police Detain Perpetrators Of Hot Water Sprinkling On Midwives In Padang Due To Reprimand At Karaoke

PADANG - The Koto Tangah Police Sector, Padang, West Sumatra (West Sumatra) detained the perpetrators of sprinkling hot water on a midwife on Jalan Baringin, Koto Tangah District.

The watering was carried out by the perpetrator, Taufik, 51, on Tuesday, December 7, because he did not accept being reprimanded by the victim during karaoke at night.

"The perpetrator was arrested on Wednesday (8/12) night at his residence, now we have detained the perpetrator and named him a suspect in an alleged molestation case," said Police Chief Koto Tangah AKP Afrino, quoted by Antara, Thursday, December 9.

The arrest was made by the police based on a report from the victim with the number: LP/86/B/XI/2021/SPKT/Police Koto Tangah/Polresta Padang/Polda West Sumatra.

When undergoing examination, the suspect, who is known to be the sister-in-law of the victim, admitted all his actions.

As a result of the hot water, the victim's skin, named Sri Wahyuni (41), had blisters from the shoulder to the hand, and the left shoulder was sore.

The watering was carried out by the suspect because he did not accept being reprimanded by the victim when he was doing karaoke at night at his shop.

The victim, who works as a midwife, was reprimanded because the volume of the music was so loud that it caused a lot of noise around the location, including at her clinic, where she had just assisted in childbirth.

"At that time a baby was born during the day, so my wife reminded the shop owner not to hold karaoke," said the victim's husband, David (34) when making a report on Wednesday, December 9.

In fact, the warning has also been conveyed to the local RT but the perpetrators have not heeded it. Karaoke's still going on at night.

Not only disturbing the comfort around the location, the loud music volume also caused the newborn baby at the victim's clinic to continue to cry and his parents felt uncomfortable.

The victim finally reminded the perpetrators to turn down the volume of the music in his shop, but he still ignored it.

"My wife went back to the shop owner to reprimand him, at that time because the music was quite loud, my wife pushed the speaker a little to tilt," he explained.

The suspect who did not accept the victim's reprimand immediately doused the victim with hot water.

On the other hand, Afrino reminded the public to jointly maintain security and public order in their respective residences.
