JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the COVID-19 Task Force, Wiku Adisasmito, is worried about 64 regencies / cities that are included in the orange zone of COVID-19 for four consecutive weeks.
"As of August 9, there are 64 regencies / cities in 22 provinces with contributors from the Orange Zone for 4 weeks without change," Wiku said in a broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat Youtube account, Thursday, August 13.
Wiku said, the risk of transmission in these 64 areas is still in the moderate category. However, there is no progress in handling COVID-19 to reduce zoning in these areas to a yellow zone (low risk) or a green zone (without cases).
Therefore, Wiku asked the local government to improve inspection, contact tracing, and treatment services, otherwise known as 3T (testing, tracing, treatment).
Meanwhile, for the community, Wiku asked to continue implementing COVID-19 prevention protocols such as wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands using soap and running water.
"If these two parties really run well, we are sure that the area with an orange zone or moderate risk will turn into a mild risk zone and there will be no more cases," said Wiku.
