Only 24 Days Left, The Regent Of Fifty Cities Of West Sumatra Is Optimistic To Boost 70 Percent Of COVID Vaccinations Until The End Of The Year

SUMBAR - The COVID-19 vaccination program in Limapuluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra as of Monday, December 6 has only reached 56 percent of the total target population who must be vaccinated, amounting to around 310,000 people.

Regent of Fifty Cities, Safaruddin Dt. Bandaro Rajo promised to boost vaccinations to the community every day to reach the 70 percent target by the end of the year.

"We have to carry out vaccinations every day, because we are only at 56 percent. We must be able to reach 70 percent by the end of December 2021," said Safaruddin in Sarilamak, Antara, Tuesday, December 7.

He admitted that he was still optimistic that the 70 percent target for COVID-19 vaccination could be achieved even though there were only 24 days left.

"The implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination continues to be held up to the jorong level in the nagari so that the coverage of residents who can be vaccinated can be wider," he said.

He said that currently his party was continuing to carry out socialization to invite the public to be willing to take part in the COVID-19 vaccination.

Safaruddin also thanked various parties such as the Limapuluh Kota Police, Dandim 0306/50 City, the Prosecutor's Office, Courts and other stakeholders who have helped make the COVID-19 vaccination a success.

"For example, the Lima Puluh City Police Station continues to carry out COVID-19 vaccinations so that our vaccination achievements continue to increase drastically. Don't forget to thank the health workers who continue to work hard," he said.

He hopes that people in Limapuluh Kota Regency who have not been vaccinated can immediately take part in the COVID-19 vaccination which is held every day in various locations.

"Let's make the COVID-19 vaccination a success, so far there have been no major side effects felt by people who have been vaccinated. Don't be fooled by false information such as death, disability and others," he said.

Not to forget, Safaruddin also asked the public to comply with health protocols, namely wearing masks, maintaining distance, washing hands, avoiding crowds, and limiting mobility.

"Even though they have been vaccinated, people must still comply with health protocols so that the possibility of being exposed to COVID-19 is getting smaller," he said.
