State Loss Of IDR 300 Million, Ambon Prosecutor's Office Detains 2 Suspects Of Corruption In Village Funds

AMBON - The Ambon District Attorney's Office (Kejari) detained Josef (JS) and Yanes (YM) in the Ambon detention center in the case of alleged corruption in village funds and the allocation of village funds in Haria Village, in Saparua, Central Maluku, Fiscal Year 2018 which cost the state IDR 300 million.

"The suspect was detained after undergoing a medical examination at the Ambon Kejari Office," said Ambon District Attorney's Office (Kajari) Head Dian Frits Nalle in Ambon, Antara, Monday, December 6.

Meanwhile, the former Head of Haria MYM Village has not been able to fulfill the prosecutor's summons today due to illness.

In the case of alleged criminal acts of corruption in village funds and village fund allocations (DD and ADD) Desa Haria, four suspects have been named including the former village head, the village treasurer with the initials JS, the owner of a shop in Saparua with the initials YM alias Yanes, and LM as the Secretary of the Haria village.

"Previously, there were three suspects, but in the development of the prosecutor's investigation, another new suspect was appointed, namely LM as Secretary of Haria Village," said Kajari.

The detention of two suspects by the prosecutor after the process of handing over stage II or the transfer of case files and suspects by the investigators of the Ambon Kejari Saparua Branch to the public prosecutor.

The prosecutor will also check the whereabouts of the suspect MYM, who according to his legal advisor's report is sick and undergoing treatment at the Saparua Hospital.
