PKB Party Legislator Asks Government To Close All Tourist Places From Christmas To New Year

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the PKB Party faction, Luqman Hakim, asked the government to be serious in anticipating the emergence of a new variant of the Omicron type of COVID-19.

One of them, by closing tourist attractions during the Christmas holidays until the New Year (nataru) 2022.

He hopes that the closure can be carried out from December 25, 2021 to January 2, 2022. As a precautionary measure by the government to protect citizens.

"To ensure the country's success in facing Omicron and Nataru's momentum, the government must establish a policy of closing all tourist attractions," Luqman told reporters, Monday, December 6.

The Central Java electoral district legislator assessed that the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) needs to give orders to all local governments (Pemda) to strengthen supervision by involving various government institutions and local community organizations. The main thing, said Luqman, is related to the distribution of national vaccinations.

"Extra efforts are needed to accelerate the expansion of vaccination to the public so that the target of two doses of vaccine injection for the population of 208 million people can be achieved immediately," he concluded.
