JAKARTA - The East Jakarta City Government has started the dredging of the Halim Perdanakusuma Reservoir, Makasar District, East Jakarta, tomorrow, Saturday, December 4.
Assistant for Economics, Development, and Environment for East Jakarta Administrative City, Kusmanto explained that his party had reviewed the readiness to dredge the Halim Perdanakusuma Reservoir.
"Today we are conducting a review, following up on the results of the meeting with the Danlanud, to ensure which points will be worked on", said Kusmanto, quoted by Antara, Friday, December 3.
Kusmanto added that later excavators from the East Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-Department would be sent down for dredging.
He said the dredging of the reservoir was carried out to reduce flooding in the areas of Cipinang Melayu, Halim Perdanakusuma, and the banks of Kali Sunter.
"So it must be known that this project is to address residents affected by flooding", said Kusmanto.
