President Jokowi And Iriana Leave For Bali to Review Facilities And Infrastructure Used At The G20 Summit

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and First Lady Iriana Jokowi are scheduled to review a number of facilities and infrastructure that will be used at the G20 Summit in Bali.

The President and his entourage took off from the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, Thursday, December 2 using the presidential plane at around 08.00 a.m. local time.

A number of facilities that will be reviewed directly by President Jokowi include Mangrove Conservation Forest, road infrastructure, pedestrians, bridges, and a number of locations in the Nusa Dua area, Bali.

Meanwhile, in the evening, President Jokowi is scheduled to visit the Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) Cultural Park located in Uluwatu, South Kuta, Badung Regency.

According to a press release from the Presidential Secretariat, which accompanied President Jokowi and Mrs. Iriana Jokowi on the flight to Bali Province, among others, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono, Military Secretary of the President Young Marshal (Marsda) of the National Armed Forces (TNI) M. Tonny Harjono.

Then Presidential Guard (Paspampres) Commander Maj. Gen. Tri Budi Utomo, Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media of the Presidential Secretariat Bey Machmudin, and Coordinator of the Presidential Special Staff Ari Dwipayana.

Since December 1, 2021, Indonesia will officially become the G20 Presidency until November 30, 2021, continuing the relay of chairmanship from Italy.

The G20 is a global forum consisting of 19 countries and one European Union. The Forum, which was formed in 1999, accounts for up to 80 percent of the world's Gross Domestic Product and 75 percent of world exports.

The G20 Presidency carries the theme Recover Together, Recover Stronger, while the three main topics that will be raised in the G20 Indonesia Presidency are, World Health System; Economic and Digital Transformation, and Energy Transition.

The series of the 2022 G20 Presidency Meetings amounted to 150 events consisting of Working Groups, Engagement Groups, Deputies/Sherpa, Ministerial, and G20 Summits, and Side Events meetings.

From the economic aspect, several direct benefits that are projected to be achieved by becoming the G20 Presidency, especially physical meetings, include an increase in domestic consumption to IDR 1.7 trillion, an increase in national GDP to IDR 7.4 trillion, and the involvement of MSMEs and employment of around 33 thousand in various sectors.
