JAKARTA - Finally, the perpetrators of the burning of the PSS Sleman or Omah PSS office in Sariharjo, Ngaglik, Sleman were exposed. The perpetrators of two PSS Sleman supporters themselves were disappointed with the achievements of their favorite club.

The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Sleman Resort Police, Yogyakarta Special Region, has named two suspects with the initials GD (36) and TL (26) in the case of burning the Sleman PSS Management Office.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Sleman Police, AKP Rony Prasadana, said that the suspect was named after GD, a resident of Pundong, Bantul Regency, and TL, a resident of Trimulyo, Sleman Regency, surrendered at the Sleman Police Headquarters on Tuesday night, November 30.

"The perpetrator turned himself in last night around 23.00 WIB," he said, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, December 1.

The burning of the PSS Omah Office on Jalan Raya Randu Gowang, Tegalweru, Sariharjo, Ngaglik, Sleman occurred on November 28, 2021. They were disappointed with the management of PT PSS and PSS Sleman's game that did not turn out well during Liga 1.

Before burning down the PSS Sleman office, in the afternoon the suspect GD came to a dangdut music event while watching the PSS match against Persita Tangerang. The event was held by a group of PSS supporters in Ngaglik, Sleman.

In the match they watched, PSS Sleman lost 1-0 to Persita Tangerang. Even though the match was not over, GD, who had previously been drinking alcohol, then invited TL and GTX to vent their disappointment to Omah PSS.

"The perpetrator along with the two friends of the perpetrator headed for the motorbike parking lot, then the perpetrator told them 'let's go to Omah PSS, get angry'. They did not answer and immediately followed the perpetrator," said Rony.

Next, GD rode TL by riding a motorcycle and GTX followed behind.

"Before arriving at Omah PSS, GD told TL to buy gasoline at a roadside stall, then TL and GD bought 1 liter of gasoline in the Jalan Palagan area," he said.

After arriving at Omah PSS at around 17.00 WIB, the suspect GD went to the meeting room in the office with gasoline that had been placed in a mineral water bottle.

According to Rony, when he entered the gate of Omah PSS, GD was reprimanded by security, but he ignored it. GD then poured gasoline on the wooden table, some chairs, the floor, and the walls in the room.

"Then GD lit a match and set the wooden table on fire," he explained.

According to him, officers managed to secure a number of evidences, including a mineral water bottle used to store fuel, a lighter, a hoodie belonging to the perpetrator, a white mask, trousers, and two CCTV surveillance camera footage.

In that case, the police arrested the suspects GD and TL under Article 170 paragraph (1), Article 187 paragraph (1) to (1) and Article 406 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code in conjunction with 55 of the Criminal Code.

Investigators, he said, would still develop the case to investigate the involvement of other perpetrators. Rony added that the police opened up opportunities for "restorative justice" or mediation efforts to resolve the case out of court.

"But later it will depend on what the reporting party wants, because they are the ones who feel aggrieved," he said.
