Police Strictly Guard Munarman's Trial Today At The East Jakarta District Court

JAKARTA - Today Munarman will undergo his first trial in the alleged terrorism case at the East Jakarta District Court (Jaktim). The former General Secretary of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), was presented online at 09.00 western Indonesia time.

"The defendant will be presented online," briefly the Public Relations of the East Jakarta District Court in a written statement to the media crew, Tuesday, November 30.

Meanwhile, the East Jakarta Metro Police will increase security during the trial this morning.

Cakung Police Chief, Commissioner of Police Satria Darma said the security enhancement was carried out to ensure the trial runs smoothly and safely today.

"Security at the East Jakarta District Court will be increased," said Satria Darma quoting Antara, Wednesday, December 1.

Satria explained that the Cakung Sector Police will secure the trial of terrorism crimes scheduled for today at the East Jakarta District Court.

"Later, we will hold a coordination meeting regarding the security of the trial. The results will be notified later," said Satria.

As previously reported, the Special Detachment 88/Anti-terror investigator has detained Munarman at the Metro Jaya Police detention house since May 7, 2021. Rizieq Shihab's lawyer is suspected of being involved in a number of terrorism plans in Indonesia.

The Munarman case was then registered at the East Jakarta District Court with case number 925/Pid.Sus/2021/PNJkt.tim on Tuesday, November 16. In this case, the classification of cases in the form of crimes against the state is declared.
