JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria said that the implementation of Level 2 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in Jakarta is currently a strategy to anticipate the increase in COVID-19 cases which often occurs at the end of the year.

According to Riza, the policy of increasing the PPKM level is a very good policy, because it is feared that there will be a bigger infection if it is still relaxed.

"This is part of the central government's strategy with the regional government so that we are more anticipatory, more careful in responding to the upward trend that always occurs during the year-end holidays, especially since we know that there is a new variant of Omicron, we must be more careful," Riza told reporters, Tuesday. , November 30.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, said Riza, supports the policy, which according to him departs from the experience of previous years.

"This must be handled wisely and obey the regulations. Hopefully, by the end of this year the incident will not be repeated at the end of last year, namely an increase during the holiday season and Christmas and New Year's Day," he said.

Previously, the Government had again raised the PPKM status in DKI Jakarta from Level 1 to Level 2 which took effect from November 30 to December 13, 2021.

The latest Instruction from the Minister of Home Affairs changes the previous instruction, namely Inmendagri Number 60 of 2021 which ends on November 29, 2021.

With this increase, a number of adjustments were made, including tightening the amount of capacity in certain sectors, such as the non-essential business sector from the previous 75 percent to 50 percent of office work (WFO).

The essential sectors include finance and banking from the previous maximum of 100 percent, now to a maximum of 75 percent.

Then, supermarkets, hypermarkets, traditional markets, grocery stores, and supermarkets have a maximum visitor capacity of 75 percent, after previously being 100 percent.

Food stalls/warteg, street vendors, street stalls, and the like are allowed to open until 21.00 western Indonesia time, after previously until 22.00 western Indonesia time with a capacity of 50 percent, previously 75 percent.

Restaurants, cafes located in buildings or open areas, both in separate locations and in malls, are allowed to open 50 percent until 21.00 western Indonesia time.

Previously, at PPKM Level 1, it was allowed to open until 22.00 western Indonesia time with a capacity of 75 percent.

Malls, shopping centers, and trade centers are opened with 50 percent capacity until 21.00 western Indonesia time, after previously being 100 percent until 22.00 western Indonesia time.
