JAKARTA - Hundreds of students from the Jakarta Veterans National Development University (UPNVJ) held a demonstration. They asked the campus to investigate the cause of the death of a D-3 Physiotherapy student while participating in the UPNVJ Student Regiment (Menwa) raid in Bogor, Saturday, September 25, 2021.

The chairman of the UPNVJ Student Executive Board, Rama Fathurachman, when met in the midst of a demonstration regarding this matter in Jakarta, said that his party had sent five guidelines to the campus regarding this issue.

Ivanno Julius Reynaldi as the Deputy Chair of the UPNVJ MPM who conveyed the demands said that his party requested the release of the chronology from the Menwa and the rectorate.

Then, demanding institutional accountability from Menwa for allowing basic education and training activities (diksar).

"From the Menwa, we demand that there be accountability because the Menwa themselves are also silent. Even for releases on their social media, there are no condolences," said Ivanno, Tuesday, November 30, quoted from Antara.

He said that his party also demanded the dissolution of Menwa to the rectorate on the grounds that it was no longer relevant to reform values and student rights.

Then, his party strongly condemned the actions taken by Menwa.

"We see here is a procedural defect carried out by Menwa because there is no guarantee of health rights for victims," he said.

He added that the activity was also indicated by the rectorate's maladministration because each student organization was not allowed to carry out face-to-face activities (offline).

"But why did the rectorate allow this Menwa diksar activity to take place. Then from the procedural flaws, we conclude that the highest point of demand is to dissolve the Menwa itself," he said.

Rama Fathurachman said that the victim, known to have the initials FN, did not have any congenital disease.

However, while carrying out the "long march" the victim was exhausted. However, continued Rama, the Menwa claimed that he was in a trance.

"This FN sister looked tired and then at first the Menwa thought that it was a trance," he said.

In addition, his party also questioned the handling of health at the time of the incident. "He was taken by ambulance, but before he arrived at the hospital he was already dead," he said.
