PHRI Cianjur Hopes There Is No Ban On Guests Spending Christmas-New Year Holidays At Hotel

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) in Cianjur, West Java, hopes that there will be no prohibition for guests who will spend the long Christmas and New Year 2021 holidays in hotels and tourist attractions during PPKM level 3.

Chairman of the Cianjur PHRI, Nano Indra Praja when contacted on Sunday, said that since the last few months the hotel occupancy rate in Cianjur, had begun to increase after being hit by COVID-19.

"But now, when the wheels of the economy are revived, the government will implement PPKM level 3 in all parts of Indonesia, including in Cianjur. However, we hope that it will not lead to a ban on visits or social restrictions," he said as quoted by Antara, Sunday, November 28.

The reason, he said, is that economic recovery can be carried out in areas with level 2 status, including in Cianjur, but to anticipate a spike in cases, the government implements this so that it hopes that visits will continue, but with the implementation of strict procedures.

Including, he said, visitors or guests from inside and outside the city are required to show a "scan barcode" in the PeduliLindung application when they will celebrate Christmas and the 2022 New Year at hotels or tourist attractions in the Puncak-Cianjur area so that the wheels of the economy continue to run.

"All members of the Cianjur PHRI have followed all government recommendations and regulations, even all employees have received a second dose of vaccination. We also hold many mass vaccinations as an effort to help accelerate vaccination," he said.

Not only related to vaccination, all members of PHRI Cianjur, he said, have agreed not to hold firework events or "live music" during the new year's night to prevent crowding in accordance with government regulation.

Manager of Marketing Communication Le Eminance Hotel, Rizki S, said his team will obey all prohibitions and regulations implemented by the government to prevent the returning of increasing COVID-19 case by not creating crowd in the new year's night.

However, he explained, his team provides the incoming guests to spend the holiday together with family with several accommodation facilities promoted by five-star hotels by still applying strict health protocol for visitors.

"We have a public pool, hot water pool, little zoo, kids' playground, and other several facilities around the hotel. For Christmas and New Year 2022, the rate of order has been significant," he explained.
