JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) continues to summon several parties related to the investigation into alleged corruption in the implementation of the international Formula E racing event. This summons was made to investigate information received from public complaints.

"Formula E is still in the investigation stage. So, we invite parties who we suspect know the subject matter for clarification of various information", said Deputy Chairman of the KPK, Alexander Marwata to reporters, Friday, November 26.

The research conducted by the KPK team is not only related to the budget. Alexander said investigators would also explore the planning process for the electric car racing activity.

"What was the planning process like when it came to suddenly, how come the DKI Provincial Government will hold Formula E. Has it been discussed with the Regional House of Representatives in advance", he said.

"In addition, how does the budget continue to whom the money is from, the commitment fee is deposited. Then, there is a comparative study not to the countries implementing Formula E, how much they pay. Well, this must be confirmed", added Alexander.

With many things that still need to be investigated, he asked the public to be patient. Moreover, Alexander explained, after the investigation, exposure will be carried out first before determining whether the alleged corruption can be continued or not.

"This is still in the process of being investigated. I think there is still a long way to go for us to know. If there is enough evidence, it will be exposed whether it is a criminal case or not", he said.

Previously reported, the KPK admitted that it was investigating and had examined several parties related to allegations of corruption related to the implementation of the Formula E racing event.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Inspectorate, Syaefulloh Hidayat, and President Director of PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro), Widi Amanasto, visited the KPK's Red and White building on Tuesday, November 9.

They came to submit a 600-page document related to the plan to organize Formula E. This was intended to provide support for monitoring corruption prevention (MCP) efforts to the KPK leadership.

The document contains the approval process for the preparations needed by the KPK to obtain detailed and complete information in investigating allegations of corruption in the planned international event.
