MEDAN - Pemko Medan continues to work to prevent revenue leakage in the restaurant tax sector. As a form of firmness in dealing with leaks, the Medan City Government sealed the Noma Cafe and All-day Dining located on Tengku Amir Hamzah Street.

The sealing was led directly by the Deputy Mayor of Medan, Aulia Rachman. The cafe was sealed, Sunday, November 21 night, for not complying with taxes.

Deputy Mayor of Medan, Aulia Rachman, said the cafe had never registered as a taxpayer.

"The sealing last night, our UPT has come to the cafe several times, I was instructed by the mayor, I stopped briefly with UPT to make sure they can be registered as taxpayers", said Aulia Rachman, Monday, November 22.

The cafe, said Aulia, started operating 9 months ago. However, since it first started operating, the cafe has been collecting restaurant taxes from consumers.

"They have collected fees, this is against the rules. We ask persuasively, they also still have unpleasant refusals, so they are immediately sealed", said the Gerindra politician.

She asserted, the seal will be opened until the restaurant fulfills its tax administrative obligations.

"Until their permits are completed. They do not carry out tax administration. They collect taxes from customers, but do not pay taxes", said Aulia.

Deputy Mayor of Medan, Aulia Rachman, reminded business owners who have not paid taxes to immediately take care of tax administration.
