Jakarta Deputy Governor Praises Firefighters' Ability To Persuade Residents To Cancel Suicide In Kembangan

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, praised the actions of the DKI Fire and Rescue Service officers who were able to prevent a resident from committing suicide.

DKI Firefighters managed to evacuate and rescue a resident who was suspected of jumping from the 4th floor of the Resfles Belmon Shophouse, Srengseng, Kembangan, West Jakarta, yesterday afternoon.

"In addition to technical skills, the DKI Firefighters are also able to persuade and prevent someone from committing suicide. We thank and respect", said Riza in the @arizapatria Instagram account, Monday, November 22.

For information, a young man with the initials Hen (25) was desperate to commit suicide attempts at the Belmont Apartment. The victim tried to jump from the 3rd floor of the apartment. However, the plan was thwarted by officers from the West Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service and the Kembangan Police who arrived at the location.

The suicide attempt occurred in an apartment located on Meruya Ilir Raya Street, RT 008/007, Srengseng Village, Kembangan District, West Jakarta. The victim's reckless action made the residents around the apartment hysterical.

"The victim was rescued at around 17.10 WIB. The officers persuaded the victim and then evacuated from the apartment window", said Suket to the Operations Section (Kasiop) of the West Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat Sub-dept).

The Head of the Kembangan Sector Police, Kompol H. Khoiri, said that Hen (25), a young man who almost ended his life by trying to jump from the 4th floor of Ruko Rafles Belmon, Srengseng, Kembangan, West Jakarta, had debt problems.

"Hen has a debt problem through an online loan of around IDR 90 million", said Commissioner H Khoiri to VOI, Sunday, November 21 night.

Because of the loan debt of IDR 90 million, Hen chose to play the money by playing online gambling. But instead of being lucky and winning, Hen's finances actually collapsed without a trace. In addition, Hen is also often terrorized by those online loans.
