"We received a report from a resident who found objects or items resembling large bombs on Saturday afternoon (20/11) at 15.00 central Indonesia time," said West Tarakan Police Chief, 1st Insp. Angestri Budi Reswanto, quoted by Antara, Sunday, November 21.
Furthermore, the West Tarakan Police immediately secured the scene of the case and installed a police line, and coordinated with the Brimob of the Kaltara Police.
The evacuation process was immediately carried out by the Gegana Brimob Team of the Kaltara Police according to the procedure.
The Commander of the Brimob Unit of the Kaltara Police Grand Commissioner Pol Muhajir through the Deputy Head of Sub-Department II with Gegana 1st Insp. Moh Nur Sugiharto confirmed the discovery of the bomb in Selengkung and immediately evacuated.
"It is true that what was found was an aerial bomb which is thought to be a relic from the Japanese era," said Moh Nur Sugiharto.
