BANDA ACEH - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of North Aceh Regency stated that floods have again submerged three sub-districts following heavy rains that hit the area.

Acting (Plt) Head of BPBD North Aceh Regency, Murzani, said the three sub-districts that were hit by floods again were Matangkuli, East Pirak, and Stepan.

"The flood this time does not include a disaster emergency, because it does not affect community activities. There are also no residents who have been evacuated due to the flood," said Murzani, quoted by Antara, Sunday, November 21.

Murzani said the flood was caused by the overflow of three rivers in the area, namely Krueng Keureutoe, Krueng Peutoe, and Krueng Pirak. Floods due to overflowing rivers with water levels reaching 50 centimeters

"The flood is also slowly starting to recede. The villages affected by the flood are in Matangkuli Subdistrict as many as six villages, Pirak Timu and Stepan Subdistricts are one village each," said Murzani.

Murzani said that his party together with other related elements continue to be on standby and monitor flood points and other areas with potential disasters. The North Aceh BPBD also asked the public to report developments in the flooded area.

"We also urge the public to remain vigilant about further flooding, considering the weather is still in the rainy season. We also continue to inform the latest developments regarding the weather in North Aceh," said Murzani.
