International Racing Organizer, Dorna Appreciates NTB Police Chief For Mandalika Security

CENTRAL LOMBOK - Security specialist from Dorna Sports, Fernando Arandiga appreciated the success of the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Chief, Inspector General of Police Mohammad Iqbal, in managing the security of the international racing event at the Mandalika Circuit, Lombok.

"I appreciate my colleagues (Kapolda NTB) who have succeeded in helping us in organizing a major international and first-class event in Lombok, in Indonesia. For all, I thank you," said Fernando Arandiga when met with the NTB Police Chief Inspector General Pol Mohammad Iqbal after the international racing event at the Mandalika Circuit, Sunday, November 21.

The NTB Regional Police Chief Inspector General Pol Mohammad Iqbal, who received the appreciation, explained that the success of this big event was carried out thanks to careful preparation.

"The key to the success of this event is due to thorough preparation. For three months we have prepared all of this together with all 'stakeholders', both with the TNI, Polri, and government agencies. So everyone is ready and knows what to do because of thorough preparation," said Mohammad Iqbal.

Even in the initial plan, he said, the first and second layers of security were located in the Mandalika Circuit area and became the authority of the organizers, in the end, the Police helped.

"Because at first the police didn't enter the security ring, but they needed help, so we went in and thank God, until the end of the event, there wasn't a single security disturbance that made a lot of noise," he said.

Iqbal said that the support of all elements of society cannot be separated from the success of this event. One of the benchmarks is seen from the previous appeal to the public, especially the audience, not to use private vehicles when going to the Mandalika Circuit.

"It is proven that on the third day, there was no significant traffic jam. From what we saw, there were only cars carrying VIP guests, workers, officials, and drivers or people related to racers," said Iqbal.
