JAKARTA - The East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) managed to extinguish a fire that burned a house on H. Bakot Street, RT 06/01, No 17A, Pinang Ranti Village, Makasar District, East Jakarta.

The fire was extinguished by three fire engines who were dispatched to the location. According to information, the house caught fire because a boy was playing with matches.

"Then the fire burned the mattress and spread to other objects. As many as 12 personnel were deployed to the location to extinguish it with three fire engines," said Head of the Operations Section (Kasiop) of the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman, to reporters, Sunday, November 21.

It was later discovered that the house that burned down belonged to Mursidi. As a result of this fire incident, victims suffered losses of up to Rp100 million.

The first fire incident was known by Mrs. Syafei who saw a fire in Mursidi's house. Meanwhile, the owner of the house, Mursidi, was not at home when the incident occurred.

"There were several small children there who immediately fled when they saw the fire growing. Thank God the fire was extinguished. Four people were saved," he said.
