President Jokowi Ready To Give Political Support To Pertamina-PLN: I'm Behind You

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Joko Widodo asked the commissioners and directors of Pertamina and PLN to report to him if he needed political support in carrying out an assignment.

This was conveyed by the President in his directive to the Commissioners and Directors of Pertamina and PLN, at the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, Tuesday, November 16, according to a video uploaded to the Youtube channel of the Presidential Secretariat in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Saturday, November 20.

"I hope that what I have said can be followed up on the ground, can be implemented. If not, please tell me, to the minister first. If there is a problem that is really stuck and there is politics, please, I will open my door at any time, if there is something wrong. There are big parties who need political support, I can say that maybe it will go on. I am behind you. I think that is it," said the President.

In his briefing on the occasion, the President emphasized the importance of the energy transition. The President talked about investments that need to be followed up by the two SOEs. Furthermore, the President reminded that every plan and assignment given was immediately implemented.

"I conveyed to Pertamina earlier, we have conveyed PLN. If there is a plan that we agree on, don't procrastinate. Now the name of the assignment changes every day, every week it changes, the adjustment is sometimes very fast, so even though there are big plans that might every moment will change, but now the world is changing, technology is changing," he explained.

The Head of State emphasized that the opportunity for investment in Pertamina and PLN is very wide open when these two companies open their doors wide.

"Openness is what I want, and the job creation law wants," he explained.
