BATAM - The Directorate of Drug Investigation of the Riau Islands Police (Kepri) has arrested 425 suspects in drug cases consisting of 406 men and 19 women. They were arrested from January to November 2021.
Director of the Narcotics Investigation of the Riau Islands Police, Grand Commissioner Mudji Supriadi, explained that based on records, the ranks of the Narcotics Directorate of the Riau Islands Police handled as many as 68 narcotics cases.
After that, Barelang Police 67 cases, Tanjungpinang Police 60 cases, Karimun Police 60 cases, Bintan Police 21 cases, Natuna Police 4 cases, Lingga Police 6 cases, and Anambas Police 3 cases.
Grand Commissioner Mudji Supriadi emphasized that his party will continue to take action against drug cases in the border area.
He hopes for involvement from all parties to combat drug trafficking, one of which is information assistance from the public regarding suspicious activities such as drug transactions.
"The Indonesian National Police continues to increase their actions, but we cannot work alone. Let's work together in handling this drug case," Mudji said in Batam as reported by Antara, Thursday, November 18.
