COVID-19 Update As Of November 17: 522 New Cases, 8,390 Active Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 279,216 specimens were examined with the result that there were 522 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,251,945 people and 8,390 active cases", according to data from the Ministry of Health, Wednesday, November 17.

Today's recovered cases increased by 458 cases, bringing the total to 4,099,857 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 13 people and a total of 143,698 people.

The province with the newest cases was in West Java with 160 cases and a total of 707,111 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with 130 new cases with a total of 863,034 cases. East Java has 44 new cases and a total of 399,029 cases. Then, Central Java with 44 new cases and a total of 485,920 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 172 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 69 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 52 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 34 recovered cases.

There are 5 provinces that reported no new cases today, namely Bengkulu, Southeast Sulawesi, Gorontalo, North Maluku, and Maluku. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 50,940,689.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 0.24 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is 7,177 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 132,006,377 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 86,279,716 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 1,197,579. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
