Turkey's First Aid To Lebanon Came From A Non-profit Organization

JAKARTA - The big explosion in the port area of Beirut, Lebanon prompted many countries in the world to provide assistance. Not only government authorities. The Humanitarian Aid Foundation (IHH), a non-profit organization from Turkey, joined the solidarity wave.

IHH is one of the rescue teams searching for survivors in Beirut. The presence of IHH is also part of the assistance from Turkey which states that it is ready to accompany Lebanon to immediately rise.

Previously, the Turkish government had offered to help build a field hospital. Turkey has also stated that it is open to whatever assistance Lebanon needs.

"We have submitted our offer of assistance, including direct work at the hospital, and we are looking forward to a response from the Lebanese side," said a senior Turkish official, quoted by Reuters on Thursday, August 6.

IHH to this day continues to dig through the rubble to find survivors or even dead. “We provide assistance with an ambulance to move patients. We can provide assistance according to hospital needs, "said the IHH Officer.

IHH is known as an organization that concentrates on various world humanitarian issues. One of the things they have done is mobilizing an aged kitchen in a refugee camp in Palestine.

Yesterday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan directly conveyed his intention to help Lebanon rise immediately. This was conveyed by Erdogan via his Twitter account.

“Our condolences to the relatives and relatives of the victims of the explosion. And I ask Almighty God to give them patience and strength. I hope the recovery can be done quickly. We in Turkey will always support Lebanon and our brothers there. "
