PRC Survey: Sandiaga Uno An Alternative Candidate For The 2024 Presidential Election

JAKARTA - The Politics Research and Consulting (PRC) survey places the name of the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno as a potential alternative presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election.

"From the findings of the PRC survey, there are at least four names (Sandiaga Uno, Ridwan Kamil, AHY, and Tri Rismaharini) who are considered worthy of being selected or considered as alternative candidates," said PRC researcher Rio Prayogo as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, November 16.

Rio Prayogo said that the political window ahead of the 2024 presidential election was concentrated on three big names, namely Prabowo Subianto, Ganjar Pranowo, and DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan. However, there are still other names that have the potential to become alternative figures.

Rio said the four figures still have the opportunity to increase their popularity and electability before the 2024 presidential election. Sandiaga Uno's name is in the top position of the four alternative presidential candidates.

"Of the four names, Sandiaga Uno has the highest electoral level (7 percent) and is considered worthy of filling the political window ahead of the 2024 presidential election," explained Rio.

He said that Sandiaga Uno's electability had decreased after the 2024 presidential election. However, his electability has increased since his inauguration as Menparekraf, in line with his good performance in the eyes of the public.

"Sandiaga Uno seems to have a new "playing ground" and from there, people get a positive impression. His performance is appreciated by the community," said Rio.

The survey regarding the 2024 presidential candidate was conducted on 8 October-4 November 2021. The sampling method used "multistage random sampling" with a total of 1,220 respondents. Meanwhile, the error tolerance or margin of error is around 2.9 percent and the confidence level is 95 percent. The survey was conducted by face-to-face interviews.
