Mayor Of Surabaya Praises Interregional Collaboration To Boost The Economy

JAKARTA - Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi emphasized the importance of collaboration between regional heads, especially in East Java, to revive the economy when the COVID-19 pandemic began to slow down.

Eri Cahyadi said that the city of Surabaya was able to reach level 1 of the Implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM), because of the cooperation of all parties. Starting from the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda), the Head of Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD), and the entire Surabaya City community.

"Because of this cooperation, Surabaya can achieve PPKM level 1," said Mayor Eri, Saturday, November 13.

According to him, handling COVID-19 is not just a matter of achieving vaccinations. But because of collaboration with other regional heads to revive the economy.

As is the case with the collaboration between the Surabaya City Government and the Blitar Regency Government to improve the welfare of grocery stores as an effort to recover the economy.

According to him, this collaboration is not only to move the economy, but also to strengthen the ties of friendship and brotherhood among regional heads.

As was the case a few days ago, the Surabaya City Government assisted in handling the banjir bandang disaster in Batu City by sending personnel and heavy equipment. Likewise in Gresik Regency, the Surabaya City Government also sent heavy equipment to evacuate and overcome the flood natural disaster caused by overflowing water in Lamong River.

"From things like this, we fellow regional heads will be closer together, besides that the impact will also be on the people of Surabaya so that this city is protected from disasters," said Eri.

According to Eri, what the Surabaya City Government has done has been reported to the Assistant and Assistant Special Staff Assistant to the Indonesian President Joko Widodo, Diaz Hendropriyono during a visit at the Surabaya Mayor's official residence, Jalan Sedap Malam, Surabaya, Friday (12/11).
