Lampung Police Destroyed Tens Of Kilograms Of Narcotics

BANDARLAMPUNG - The Lampung Regional Police (Polda) destroyed evidence of narcotics of methamphetamine, marijuana, and synthetic tobacco in the courtyard of the Lampung Police Building C.

Illegal goods destroyed included 1.02 kilograms of marijuana, 98 kilograms of methamphetamine, and 47.02 grams of synthetic tobacco.

Head of Public Relations of the Lampung Regional Police Commissioner Zahwani Pandra Arsyad said the destruction of the evidence was the result of confiscation for the second semester of 2021.

"This extermination is the result of prosecution during July to November 2021," he said, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, November 10.

He said the destroyed narcotics evidence was worth IDR 147 billion and was able to save 980.000 lives from the threat of narcotics.

"All the evidence that was destroyed consisted of 13 reports and 15 suspects," continued Pandra.

Pandra appealed to the people of Lampung to report to the police if they saw transactions or illicit narcotics.

"Immediately report to the police if you see any kind of narcotics transaction," he said.

Meanwhile, Lampung Police Wadirkrimum, Rizal Marito said the destruction was the result of taking action against a suspected courier from East Java.

"These two suspects have the initials MN and MR, residents of East Java. They are couriers who planned to send goods from Medan to Jakarta for distribution," he said.

The mode used by the two suspects was by leaving for Medan by plane. Previously they had communicated to deposit the goods to be taken.

"When they got the goods, then they walked overland to Jakarta. They received orders from suspect S, who is now in Wayhui Prison," he explained.

Rizal added that the two suspects had carried out their actions five times. The first and fourth time the goods managed to escape to Jakarta.

In addition, his party confiscated several pieces of evidence in the form of cash amounting to IDR 200 million, two cars, and two motorbikes.

"This is the fifth time that we have succeeded in thwarting the shipment of the illicit goods and the evidence," he said.
