15 Minutes After Jokowi Appoints Andika Perkasa TNI Commander, KSAL Yudo Margono: I'm Telling Staff You Must Be Loyal!

JAKARTA - The Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy (KSAL), Admiral Yudo Margono, emphasized that the Navy has always been loyal to the decisions of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), as well as supports the leadership of the new commander in chief to make the TNI (Army) more solid, modern and professional.

"(As soon as) the President's letter was from the president, I immediately conveyed it to the ranks. Not until 15 minutes (after that) I convey to the ranks that we must be loyal to what the president has set because the president is the highest authority of the Indonesian Army, TNI Navy, and Air Force, so whatever has been decided (the president, ed) must be the best decision for the TNI and the best for the country and nation", said KSAL Yudo Margono through a press release in Jakarta quoted from Antara, Tuesday, November 9.

The Indonesian Navy must be loyal and support the leadership of General Andika Perkasa. "He is my senior and he is certainly the best because he has been chosen as the TNI Commander", he explained.

"I'm still excited. The assessment is that soldiers must be loyal, that's the first time. We must be loyal to the president's decision, loyal to the new TNI commander, with the programs we have to adapt more. Of course, law enforcement and sovereignty at sea remain the main tasks of the TNI AL, we do as much as possible", he said.

Strength and capability development is the task of the chief of staff and commander of the TNI as users. In the arrangements that have been prepared by the TNI Headquarters, he said, it is his duty to arrange so that the TNI commanders are always ready, as has been the case so far.
