MAKASSAR - Governor of South Sulawesi, Andi Sudirman Sulaiman, said that the collapsed Poring Bridge, Luwu Regency, will soon be rebuilt for smooth access and the community's economy.

"We received information last night that the Poringan Bridge, which is the alternative route for Palopo-Luwu, was cut off. God willing, a new bridge will soon be built", said Andi Sudirman in Makassar, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, November 9.

He explained that the South Sulawesi Provincial Government will build a new bridge with a financial assistance scheme to Luwu Regency. Bearing in mind, the route is a farm road that is under the authority of the Regency.

"Next year, we will prepare financial assistance for the construction of a new bridge. Moreover, this bridge is public access to the distribution of agricultural products", said Andi Sudirman.

The Poringan Bridge, located in Tabah Village, East Walenrang District, Luwu Regency, was cut off Monday night.

The bridge which has a length of 12 meters is an alternative route that connects Palopo City and Luwu Regency.

Before collapsing, the bridge was tilted. However, when a truck loaded with manure passed, it was cut off because it was unable to withstand the load.

As a result, the truck fell simultaneously with the bridge made of wood.
