Civil Service Police Confirms Luhut's Statement About Bar Violating PPKM In Bandung

BANDUNG - Head of the Bandung City Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) Rasdian Setiadi confirmed the statement from the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan regarding the existence of bars and nightclubs that violated Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) rules in Bandung.

According to Rasdian, during the easing of the Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) there were several bars that were like playing cat and mouse with Satpol PP officers, so that order was only carried out when there were officers supervising.

"We also can't monitor for 24 hours, but we can trick it by monitoring at certain hours, such as 23.00 p.m. to 00.00 a.m. local time," said Rasdian in Bandung, West Java, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, November 9.

Rasdian said that his party was trying in such a way that the supervision could be carried out suddenly. So far, he said, joint forces from both the National Armed Forces (TNI) and National Police (Polri) elements have also often been involved in the surveillance.

"There we are combined, it's like that, we move it right away, we have an apple and go straight away," he said.

So far, according to him, there are as many as four bars that have been sealed by his party for violating PPKM rules or the Mayor's Regulation (Perwal).

"We have only found four violations, while the others have only been verbally warned," he said.

A number of these bars, he said, committed violations because they operated more than 00.00 a.m. So they were sanctioned sealing for 14 days and had to pay a fine.

Regarding Luhut's statement regarding individuals who ignore the Care Protect rules, Rasdian said that later both visitors and examiners would be subject to sanctions if they violated the provisions.

"So there will also be fines for individuals, managers and visitors," he said.

For this reason, he appealed to the public to always implement strict health protocols. In this time of lower COVID-19 cases than before, according to him, the public should not be careless.

"What is in the Inmendagri (Instructions of the Minister of Home Affairs) and Perwal, that must be strictly applied, including the PeduliLindungi application," said Rasdian.

Previously, Luhut, who is also the Coordinator of the Java-Bali PPKM, revealed that his team found several bars and nightclubs in Bandung that operated outside the regulations.

These bars commit violations ranging from exceeding the operating hours, accepting visitors exceeding the limit, and ignoring the use of PeduliLindungi.

"They also used various methods to trick the officers, including turning off the headlights, separating the car park from the location and not allowing visitors to take pictures," said Luhut, Monday, November 8.
