JAKARTA - The West Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Investigation Unit is intensifying the Nila Jaya operation from 2021 to November 15 to eradicate drug trafficking. During the one week of Nila Jaya's operation, the police managed to uncover 10 cases of narcotics trafficking.

"The total evidence seized was 5,200 grams of methamphetamine and 27 grams of marijuana," said West Jakarta Metro Police Deputy Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Bismo Teguh Prakoso when confirmed by VOI, Tuesday 9 November.

AKBP Bismo explained that the Nila Jaya operation targeted places prone to narcotics trafficking, such as in Boncos Village, Palmerah District and Permata Complex, Cengkareng District, West Jakarta. Officers also said the two areas were targeted based on residents' reports.

"From the location of Boncos Village and Permata Complex, as many as 17 people were arrested for using methamphetamine drugs," he said.

Bismo continued, his party secured 101 grams of methamphetamine from one of the boarding rooms in Boncos village, Palmerah, West Jakarta. Meanwhile, the owner of the methamphetamine is still at large and is being chased by officers in the field.

"We checked his urine was positive for methamphetamine, then we did rehab, sent him to the Bhayangkara Lemdiklat Polri hospital," he said.

Based on the police records of the West Jakarta Metro Police, continued AKBP Bismo, in the Permata Complex, Cengkareng District, West Jakarta, there has been a decline in drug trafficking.

However, AKBP Bismo was reluctant to specify the percentage reduction in narcotics abuse that occurred in the area. His party will continue to suppress the number of drug trafficking in West Jakarta until it is sterile.

"We are optimizing the eradication of drug trafficking in West Jakarta," said AKBP Bismo.
