The Regent Of Bone Gives The Name 'Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno' For Whale Shark In Tomini Bay

JAKARTA - It's rare for a fish to have a name. With wide waters and almost the same types, it may be a bit difficult to give a name for a fish in the open waters.

But not for the Regent of Bone Bolango, Hamim Pou. He just gave the name 'Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno' to a whale shark that lives in Tomini Bay.

Incidentally at that time the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, Sandiaga was indeed on a working visit there. Hamim said the naming is a tradition in this area.

"We named one of the six whale sharks that appeared, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, with a length of six meters," Hamim said, quoted from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy website, Monday, November 6.

According to him, the shark, which has the same name as Menparekraf Sandiaga, is one of the larger fish compared to the other herd.

"This fish is 6.2 meters in size. It is quite large in size," he said.

Whale sharks feed on plankton and come to the surface to forage for food in the morning and evening. Sandiaga's presence in this city is also used to "chat" with this fish that can grow to a size of 20 meters and weighs six tons.

Last Sunday, November 7, after his morning exercise routine, Sandiaga took the time to snorkel at Botubarani Beach. From the hotel where he was staying, Sandiaga and his entourage went to Leato Beach for morning exercise. From there, Menparekraf Sandiaga and his entourage ran 3.2 kilometers to Botubarani Beach.

Accompanied by officers from the Gorontalo Navy Base, Sandiaga boarded an inflatable boat that had been prepared to plunge into the sea.

No need to wait long, Sandiaga met a group of six whale sharks.

"Today we see the majesty of the Almighty that there is a group of six whale sharks present here," said Sandiaga with great admiration after snorkeling.

Sandiaga emphasized that this tour needs to be enjoyed and developed by applying the 3S concept. Namely spirituality, serenity, and sustainability.

"Spirituality, appreciating the greatness of God with His creatures that we need to preserve. The second S is serenity, with silence, with serenity, with wisdom that we must guard, and the last S is sustainability, environmental sustainability," he said.
