This Morning, East And South Jakarta Are Still Flooded Up To 2.5 Meters

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) noted that there are still several RTs in East Jakarta and South Jakarta that have been flooded since yesterday's rain.

"There are currently 67 RTs out of 30,470 RTs in DKI Jakarta, as of the update until 9:00 a.m. West Indonesia Time", said Head of the DKI BPBD Data and Information Center, M. Insaf, in his statement, Monday, November 8.

In East Jakarta, 1 RT was submerged with water levels of up to 50 centimeters in Balekambang Village, 5 RTs in Cililitan Village were submerged between 70 centimeters and 2.5 meters.

Then, 5 RTs in Cawang Sub-district were flooded with a height of 80 centimeters to 1.8 meters, 10 RTs in Bidara Cina Village were submerged up to 1.9 meters, and 29 RTs in Kampung Melayu Village were submerged between 40 centimeters to 2 meters.

"The cause of the flood was due to the overflow of the Ciliwung River and high rainfall", said Insaf.

Some of the displaced residents have returned to their homes. While some are still taking refuge in the Kampung Melayu Village Office Hall and the Ittihadul Ikhwan Mosque Hall RW 008.

Meanwhile, flooding in South Jakarta is still occurring in 15 RTs. The details are 7 RTs in Pondok Pinang Village with water levels of 50 to 90 centimeters due to the overflowing of the Pesanggrahan River.

Then, 2 RTs are still submerging the East Pejaten Village with a height of 80 centimeters due to overflowing Ciliwung River and high rainfall, 2 RTs in East Cilandak Village with a water level of 40 centimeters due to the overflow of the Ciliwung River.

Furthermore, 3 RTs submerged Rajawati Village with a height of up to 80 centimeters due to overflowing Ciliwung River and high rainfall, and 1 RT in East Cilandak Village with a water level of 40 centimeters due to overflowing Ciliwung River.

Insaf said that the floods in North Jakarta and West Jakarta had completely dried up.

"The inundation condition is being handled by the Local Urban Village with Handling of Public Infrastructure and Facilities (PPSU), Rapid Response Team of Regional Disaster Management Agency (TRC BPBD), Water Resources Service (DSDA), Civil Service Police, Social Welfare Workers, Fire, and Rescue Service (Disgulkarmat) targeted to subside in a short time", he concluded.
