South Jakarta Sub-dept. Of SDA Deploys Two Pumps To Overcome Inundation In Kemang

JAKARTA - The Water Resources Department of the South Jakarta City Government deployed two stationary pumps with a capacity of 100 liters per second and a mobile pump with a capacity of 250 liters per second to suck up puddles of water caused by heavy rains in Kemang, South Jakarta.

The Head of the South Jakarta Water Resources Sub-dept. said that officers from the SDA Sub-dept. are currently sucking water with mobile and stationary pumps to reduce inundation so that traffic conditions return to normal.

"Inundation due to rain is quite evenly distributed, in Sesko AL, Gandaria City, Kemang, and at IKPN Bintaro. Our position is now in Kemang," he said, quoted by Antara, Sunday, November 7.

Mustajab said that the heavy rain that had fallen since noon resulted in a puddle of water on Jalan Kemang Raya reaching 40 cm, but motorcyclists were still able to cross the road.

SDA officers are already at the location of the puddle, namely the mobile pump operator together with the stationary pump operator at the guard house, ready to suck up the puddle.

"We are preparing pump workers to drain puddles of water on the highway to the drainage, and from the drainage we pump it to the river," he said.
