Since the Earthquake, President Prabowo's Instructions Have Been Followed Up with the Deployment of Aid and Thousands of Personnel

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto since the morning of the incident, Saturday, August 15, 2026, has instructed the government to move quickly to deal with the impact of the earthquake in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). Following up on the instructions, the government immediately deployed personnel, sent logistical assistance, and evacuated and handled the affected people in a number of areas.

Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya in a written statement on Sunday, August 16, 2026, said that as much as 27 tons of the first phase of logistics from the center had been sent to Flores, NTT.

"According to the instructions of President Prabowo since the morning of the incident, Saturday, August 15, 2026: 27 tons of the first phase of logistics from the center have been sent to Flores, NTT," said the Seskab Teddy.

According to the Seskab, Teddy, a number of related officials have also arrived in NTT to ensure that handling on the ground runs quickly and is integrated. In the field, more than 3,500 TNI-Polri personnel have been deployed and spread across the Manggarai, Maumere, and Flores regions.

"A number of related officials have arrived in NTT, including the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, the Minister of Home Affairs, the Minister of PU, the Head of BNPB, the Head of Basarnas, as well as the ranks of PLN, Pertamina, and Telkom. More than 3,500 TNI-Polri personnel have been deployed and spread across Manggarai, Maumere, and Flores," added Seskab Teddy.

In addition, the Secretary of the Cabinet, Teddy, explained that the Ministry of Public Works, the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Basarnas, and the TNI-Polri in the area also continued to move directly to evacuate and handle the affected residents.

"The government will continue to ensure that all handling is fast, integrated, and that affected people get the necessary assistance as soon as possible," concluded the Secretary of the Cabinet, Teddy.
