Turkey Claims To Have Disabled 236 ISIS Terrorists In Syria, President Erdoan: No Steps Back

JAKARTA - Turkish authorities claim to have crippled hundreds of ISIS terrorists in Syria so far this year, with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan saying he is ready to carry out anti-terror operations at any time.

Turkey has neutralized at least 236 Daesh or ISIS terrorists in northern Syria since early 2021, sources at the Ministry of National Defense said on Wednesday, citing Yenisafak November 3.

The Turkish Armed Forces continue to fight all terrorist organizations including FETO, PKK, YPG branches to Daesh or ISIS without discrimination.

Much earlier in 2013, Turkey became one of the first countries to declare Daesh or ISIS as a terror group.

This is inseparable from the number of terrorist attacks carried out against the country, with 315 people killed and hundreds injured in at least 10 suicide bombings, seven bomb attacks, and four armed attacks.

In response to the attacks carried out, Turkey launched anti-terror operations at home and abroad, including Syria, to prevent further terror attacks.

Meanwhile, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has stressed that Turkey will carry out cross-border operations to fight terrorism "whenever necessary".

"There is no step back from that", President Erdogan told reporters on his flight home after attending the G20 Leaders Summit held in Rome, Italy.
